Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains what information Kino collects when you use Kino or Kino Scribe at getkino.io, and how we use it. It's written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@getkino.io.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: the email address you sign up with, and your password (stored hashed), or, if you sign in with Google or Discord, the basic profile information (name, email) those providers share with us. We also record when you accepted the Terms of Service and which version you accepted.
  • Your content: the projects, shots, prompts, uploaded reference images/video, and generated renders you create in the product.
  • Billing information: Stripe handles your payment entirely; we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and its amount, but we never see or store your card number.
  • Basic technical logs: standard server logs (request timestamps, error traces) that help us operate and debug the service.

Advertising and error monitoring: if you arrive at Kino through a Google Ads campaign, Google's advertising tag (gtag.js) records that visit on Google's own servers and, if you sign up or make a purchase, a conversion event, so we can measure whether our ads work. We also use Sentry to automatically catch and diagnose crashes and errors (technical error data only, such as a stack trace and the page you were on; never your video content). We don't sell any of this information, and we don't use it to build an advertising profile of you beyond what these two providers' own, standard analytics functionally require.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and secure your account;
  • run your renders and show you their status and cost;
  • charge and track your prepaid credit balance;
  • send transactional email (verification links, password resets, receipts) via Resend;
  • respond to support requests and take-report reviews;
  • keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your information to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

We share the minimum information needed with the following service providers, solely to operate Kino:

  • Stripe: processes your payments and handles all card data directly; we never touch it.
  • Resend: sends transactional email on our behalf.
  • RunPod, our GPU cloud infrastructure provider, which runs the MiniMax H3 model: the prompts, reference images, and output video needed to generate a render pass through this infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare R2: encrypted object storage for your uploaded reference files and generated videos.
  • Google Ads (gtag.js): only records a visit/conversion event if you arrived through one of our ad campaigns, as described in Section 2 above.
  • Sentry: receives technical crash/error data (never your video content) so we can find and fix bugs.
  • Google or Discord: only if you choose to sign in with one of them.

We don't share your data with anyone else, and we don't sell it.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Section 6), we permanently delete every project, video, and uploaded file you own, and we anonymize your account row (removing your email, password, and any other information that identifies you). We keep your purchase/credit ledger in anonymized form, because accounting and tax law require us to retain financial records regardless of an erasure request (LGPD art. 16 II); those records no longer identify you once your account is anonymized.

6. Your choices, including account deletion

  • You can delete individual projects, shots, and assets yourself in the product.
  • You can permanently delete your whole account yourself, at any time, from Settings → Account → Delete account. This cancels any active subscription immediately, deletes every project/video/file you own, and anonymizes your account (Section 5 explains exactly what's kept and why). It can't be undone.
  • You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing support@getkino.ioif you'd rather not do it yourself.
  • You can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at the same address.

7. Content moderation

Images and video you upload are automatically screened, and reported takes and flagged content are reviewed by us. We have zero tolerance for content involving minors and will restrict accounts and report to relevant authorities where required by law. See our Terms of Service and Content Policy for the full content rules.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (e.g., hashed passwords, HTTPS, an httpOnly session cookie). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Your LGPD rights (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados)

If Brazil's LGPD applies to you, you have the right to, at any time, free of charge, by emailing support@getkino.io:

  • Confirmation and access: confirm whether we process your data, and get a copy of it.
  • Correction: fix incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data.
  • Deletion: delete your personal data, subject to the accounting/tax retention described in Section 5. See Section 6 for the in-product self-service way to do this yourself, immediately.
  • Portability: receive your data in a portable format, or have it transferred to another provider, to the extent technically feasible.
  • Anonymization, blocking, or elimination of unnecessary, excessive, or unlawfully processed data.
  • Information about sharing: know which public and private entities we've shared your data with (Section 4 already lists them).
  • Revocation of consent, where processing is based on consent, and information about the consequences of denying or revoking it.

Data Protection Officer (Encarregado, LGPD art. 41) contact: [PABLO: DPO NAME/CONTACT], reachable at support@getkino.io.

10. Age requirement

Kino is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.

11. International processing

Kino is operated from Brazil. Some of our service providers (Stripe, Resend, RunPod, Cloudflare, Google, Discord, and Sentry) may process data outside Brazil in order to provide their services to us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
